Oxygen/Ozone Therapy (O2/O3)
Ozone Therapy is a medical therapy that has been used worldwide for over 50 years with dramatic success and safety. It increases oxygenation of your cells, modulates your immune system, increases energy production in your cells, increases the antioxidant enzyme ability of your body, reduces the level of acidity in your body, kills bacteria and viruses, and can kill cancer cells on contact.
How it Works
Ozone is an “energized” form of oxygen, which occurs naturally in small amounts in the Earth’s upper atmosphere. It is formed by different processes including interaction between the sun’s ultraviolet radiation and oxygen in the stratosphere. The Earth’s ozone layer protects us from the sun’s ultraviolet rays as well as being the reason that there is life on this planet. You can often smell it in the air after a big thunderstorm, because it is created in the presence of lightning. Ozone is widely thought of as a pollutant, but it is the easiest and most consistent component that can be measured. Ozone’s presence neutralizes the toxins.
The Procedure
There are multiple ways to deliver the ozone/oxygen to a patient depending on diagnosis:- As an injection either under the skin or into an injured joint (Prolozone®).
- Injected after mixing ozone and a small amount of blood taken from the patient (Minor Autohemotherapy).
- Intravenously after taking patient’s blood and adding ozone to it (Major Autohemotherapy).
- Topically with ozonated water or ozone bagging for bums, wounds or skin infections. Ozonated oils are also good for these issues.
- Insufflated (blowing on or into) to the rectum, nose and ear.
Healing Process
There is very little downtime for Oxygen/Ozone therapy. One can usually return to prior activities a day after being injected. Oxygen/Ozone therapy helps with many chronic pain issues and is a great alternative to invasive surgery. Some of the conditions it helps: herniated discs, arthritis, sciatic/back pain, tendonosis, carpal tunnel syndrome, fibromyalgia, and “bursitis”.
